Surely by now you’ve heard the buzz about social media — media designed for social interaction through the use of web-based and mobile technologies to turn communication into interactive dialogue.

But, with hundreds of social media sites to choose from, many chiropractors may be confused on which sites to sign up with that’ll produce the best return on investment.

Well, let me save you some time and research by referring you to Alexa. Alexa.com provides information about websites including Top Sites, Internet Traffic Stats and Metrics, Related Links, Online Reviews, Contact Information, and more. In other words, they are the Web Information Company.

When perusing the Top Sites section of Alexa, pay special attention to the sites on the list that are within the top 100. These sites generate more traffic than all other sites on the Internet.

For example, Facebook is #2 on the list with over an estimated 137 million unique visits just last month.

YouTube is #3, Twitter is #9, and Linkedin is #17.

So, if you’re just starting out in social media and trying to gain traction on the Internet with a chiropractic blog, I highly suggest you link your site to these top four social media sites.

Why?

To leverage their traffic and authority in order to generate more traffic to your chiropractic blog.

How?

By first signing up with each network.

To sign up for Facebook, click HERE.

To sign up for Linkedin, click HERE.

Many chiropractors wonder what the difference is between a self-hosted blog versus a free blog offered through services like Blogger, Posterous, Tumblr, and WordPress.com.

As an entrepreneur, just remember the phrase that says that you get what you pay for — if it’s free, then there will be restrictions that’ll hinder the growth of both your website as well as your business.

For example, you can’t monetize a free blog. What does this mean? In its simplest form, you can’t make money from a free blog. It goes against the Terms of Service you agree to when you activate your free account.

That alone should steer you clear of these free accounts. As a business owner, why would you want to have a website that doesn’t allow you to make money? It just doesn’t make sense.

My motto is that blogs and websites are assets that you own and grow. A free blog is not an asset. Plus, you don’t own it — which brings me to my next point.

Everything that you publish to a free account is not yours. So as you aggressively attempt to build your web presence, just remember that if you’re building it on a free service, it’s all in vain. Since you don’t own or rent the space, whomever does also owns the content and can shut you down anytime they feel like it. That’s not a scenario you want to deal with as a business owner.

Following are five more reasons why a self-hosted blog wins hands down:

Full Theme Support: You can use custom/commercial themes, plus all other free themes that exists. You can modify, customize, or do anything that you like with your site with no limitations. With a free blog, you’re not allowed to use custom/commercial themes.

All Plugins Allowed: A self-hosted blog is under your control. Therefore, you can upload any plugin you want. With a free blog, you are not allowed to upload any custom/commercial plugins.

Ability to Sell Ads: A self-hosted blog allows you to monetize your site. So, if you want, you can sell as many ads you want on your website. A free blog doesn’t allow you to do this since it’s against their Terms of Service.

Full Control: Since you own the site with a self-hosted blog, you are in full control of its content, monetization strategy, et cetera. In other words, you’re the boss and can call the shots on what needs to be done with the site. A free blog doesn’t allow this.

Your Own Brand: You can create your own brand using your domain name, your theme, your own favicon, et cetera. Plus, you retain ownership of ALL content published to your self-hosted blog. You can’t do this with a free blog service.

So, as you can see, a self-hosted blog is a no brainer. It provides you with complete control from day one so that you can concentrate on building your business instead of being restricted by someone else’s Terms of Service.

Are you ready to get started with YOUR self-hosted blog?

Then, head on over to our home page, enter your name and email address, and we’ll be in touch shortly.

As some of you may know, I’m the author of Next Generation Chiropractor which launched on April 1, 2009. Since its inception, I’ve written over 250 articles that train chiropractors on how to use blogs and social media networks to grow their chiropractic practices.

The most read article is titled 6 Essentials Reasons Why You Need a Chiropractic Blog. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend that you do so. It covers some powerful concepts and strategies that’ll help change your paradigm toward blogging and allow you to see why blogging is such a powerful marketing tool for your chiropractic practice.

In addition to that article, I also recommend that you download and read Why Chiropractic Blogs Should Be Chiropractors’ Internet Marketing Tool of Choice. It contains over 50 pages of valuable information that you can use before you decide to purchase one of our website packages.

If you have any questions about any of the website packages we offer, please contact me. I’m here to serve you, the chiropractor, so that your message can be distributed both efficiently and effectively across the web.

Bottom line for today’s message:

The reason why you should blog is that a blog provides an extremely powerful platform to build your web presence upon. It literally becomes the hub of all your online activity.

And, since you own it, you control its content, its marketing strategy, its ability to earn money, et cetera. By writing articles that are relevant to your community, you’ll step closer toward dominating your community for chiropractic.

In addition, if you don’t know what to write about, no worries. Chiropractic Blog Designs offers a weekly blog writing service that is tailored-made for your practice.

In other words, we write articles that are keyword-rich, niche-specific, and geo-targeted for your area. We then feed each article directly to your blog so that you don’t have to worry about being a content publisher.

How’s that for service? Need more information? Then signup for more information by visiting the Chiropractic Blog Designs home page.

A blog, deriving its name from weblog, is a type of web site that allows one to post commentary in reverse chronological order. Not only can one post text, but also other forms of media like audio, video, images and photos.

Blogging was invented in 1993 by Dr. Glen Barry as an outlet to campaign for forest preservation and protection. He founded the “Forest Protection Blog” at http:// forests.org/blog/ in January 1995, which to this day is the world’s first and longest continuously running weblog.

Blogging didn’t really gain popularity until 1999 with the introduction of the first hosted blog tool, Open Diary.

Open Diary allowed users to easily post their diaries or journals online. They also were the first to incorporate the use of comments for others to leave responses to the author’s original post.

Today, blogging is a way of life for many people and institutions. Some use it as a personal outlet for thoughts and opinions. Others use it to grow small businesses.

Blogs also play a significant role in corporate America, government, financial institutions and, of course, educational institutions. There isn’t a business sector today that isn’t utilizing the power and ease of blogs.

You may be wondering why a blog is more powerful than a traditional web site. The reason is found in its dynamic nature.

You see, a traditional website contains static content. In other words, it’s only an online brochure that most visitors read once and never return again unless they need your contact information.

A dynamic web site is one that changes on a continual basis. And, unless you are a web programmer, the easiest way to change the content on your web site is through a stable content management system built within the blogging software.

It’s this dynamic nature that drives visitors back to your site. With continual updates, visitors actually have a reason to return. But, they don’t return just for your content. They return to join in on the conversation regarding your content through “comments”.

The comments section of a blog is very powerful. It provides an outlet for your visitors to voice their opinions regarding the subject matter.

As you interact with them, relationships are built. The better your interaction, the stronger the relationship due to established trust.

It’s the trust you’re after. If you cultivate the relationship properly, you will turn prospects into loyal customers.

Think about that for just a moment.

Traditional marketing interrupts people with messages they’re not interested in. Inbound marketing, which includes blogging, is a softer approach.

People find you and your content through online search, connect with your message if it meets their wants, needs, and desires, and then are more likely to become a quality patient in your office because of the relationship that’s built through dialogue.

In today’s unstable market, chiropractors can’t afford to ignore this powerful tool. If you need help getting started with this powerful medium, contact us via our Contact Page or visit our home page at Chiropractic Blog Designs to sign up for additional information as well as our 50 Page Report that explains Why Chiropractic Blogs Should Be Chiropractors’ New Patient Internet Marketing Tool of Choice.

Also, this web package is great for the budget-minded. For example, if you’re ready to get started in building your web presence but don’t want to break the bank, then the Basic Package is for you.

Once your ready to take it to the next level, you can always upgrade to either the Pro or Total package at a later date by clicking on the “Upgrade” link that’s conveniently located inside the Members Area.

Welcome to the blog of Chiropractic Blog Designs. The purpose of this blog is to provide valuable tips and tutorials for its members as well as distribute informative content about our services to potential customers.

If you are a member, don’t forget to visit the Members Area for even more tutorials and training. We’ve got over 18 videos that are designed specifically to train chiropractors and their assistants on how to get the most out of their new website.

And, since the videos are designed with the beginner in mind, no prior knowledge or experience with blogging software is required. Just login, select the video you want to watch, and learn how easy it is to distribute your chiropractic message to the masses through a blog.

To kick things off, I’d like to walk prospective members through the top 12 benefits they’ll receive upon the purchase of any one of our three website packages:

1. Built-in Stats Monitoring — Get up-to-date information on who’s visited your site, where they came from, and what content interests them the most directly from within your blog’s dashboard.

2. Feedburner Integration — Every blog has a built-in RSS feed. Its purpose is to broadcast your blog’s content to the world much like a television broadcast. By incorporating Google’s Feedburner service into your new blog, your readers will have even more ways to subscribe to your content.

3. Free Database Maintenance — For a blog to function correctly, it has to be built inside a database. Without it, it simply won’t work. And, just like a car, databases require consistent upkeep. But, by purchasing one of our blog packages, you can rest easy knowing that your blog’s database is consistently maintained at no additional cost to you.

4. Free Hosting for One Year — No matter which blog package you choose, free web hosting is automatically included for one full year. And, with a 100% network uptime guarantee, you’ll have the peace of mind knowing that your site is always available 24/7/365.

5. Free Online Training — Every Chiropractic Blog Designs customer receives instant access to ALL of our training videos that are conveniently located inside the Members Area. This way both you and your chiropractic assistant can learn the basics before your site goes live!

6. Free Software Upgrades — Each blog we build uses the most current version of software to ensure that web compliance standards are consistently met. In addition, we’ll upgrade your software for free when new versions are released to guarantee optimal security and protection for all of your valuable content.

7. Free Installation of Google Analytics — Google analytics generates detailed statistics about each visitor of your website. Once installed, you’ll have a clearer picture of which demographic is more interested in your content than others. With this knowledge, you’ll be able to tweak your marketing to more fully match your customers wants, needs, and desires.

8. Free Installation of Google Maps — Google Maps is a basic web mapping service that allows pinpoint accuracy of where your business is located. Once installed, your customers and prospects will more easily find you whether its via their computer or smartphone.

9. Search Engine Optimization — Search Engine Optimization is the process of helping websites get found through search engines like Google and Bing. By injecting certain keywords related to your geographical area, customers will more easily find you when performing simple search queries related to the products and services you offer.

10. Self-hosted Domain — Look at domain hosting as owning a home versus renting. If you don’t own your domain, then you lose right out of the gate. Building your blog on your own domain is the smartest thing you can do from a business perspective. It assures complete ownership of content and allows you to monetize your site however you wish. This simply cannot be accomplished through free sites like Blogger and WordPress.com.

11. SPAM-free Contact Manager — Unfortunately, SPAM is just part of Internet life. However, today’s technology provides tools that allow business owners the ability to block the majority of SPAM. By using Chiropractic Blog Designs, these tools are immediately installed and activated so that SPAM is something you buy in a can and not find in your email inbox.

12. User-friendly Dashboard — Each blog we build includes a user-friendly dashboard. So, if you’re familiar with using Microsoft Word, you’ll feel right at home using our built-in editor. Besides, if you get tripped up, remember help is just a click away either from our world class support or via our online training videos.

Obviously, the list doesn’t stop here. But I wanted you to have a clear picture of what you can expect when you decide to become one of our valued customers.
